Fishing Sunglasses
Most fishermen I know have a pair of fishing sunglasses that they keep for one purpose, and one purpose only – for fishing.
Of course, you know why you need to wear sunglasses, and I mean good quality sunglasses, for any activity in the sun. Really, there are now a couple of excellent reasons, and they both have something to do with the protection of your eyesight. Ultraviolet rays, or UV for short, can do great damage to the sensitive parts of your eeyes – mainly the clear lens. UV rays can cause cataracts which is a clouding of the lens, andcanlead to blindness if not cured with surgery.

The other threat is High-Energy Visible Light (HEV), otherwise known as blue light that can cause age-related macular degeneration, which can also lead to blindness but is not as easily cures or treated like the UV damage.
Now, back to fishing sunglasses. There really is no specific fishing sunglasses pre se, mostly the fisherman should find a pair of sunglasses that are comfortable, cover the eye well and filter out UV and HEV light effectively. I doubt that the absolute cheapest sunglasses can be trusted with your vision – I always make sure I get a quality pair of sun glasses that I know will not leave me unprotected!
